My Story as a Professional Motorcycle Tour Guide
My professional story in the motorcycle world began more than 20 years ago. In 2000, I founded the group “Los Piyus” alongside 3 close friends. With them, we started riding across Argentina on classic motorcycles built before 1950. The group grew, more friends joined, and together we traveled the planet seeking off-road experiences across nearly every terrain a trail motorcycle rider could face. From Argentina to Alaska, and from Siberia to Europe.
In 2005, I was hired by MotoDiscovery as a professional motorcycle tour guide. I started by guiding groups through Mexico, and later began hosting their clients in South America. Since then, I have had the opportunity to travel to incredible places around the world.
In 2008, Rentamoto (Argentina) was founded with the first fleet of BMW motorcycles for rent, which I began using for tourist groups coming to Argentina. In 2009, I started working within Rentamoto, and with my expertise in organized travel, we began running guided motorcycle tours, eventually becoming an Official BMW Travel Partner and organizing exclusive expeditions for BMW and its "Salidas y Escapadas" program.
Over the years, I went on to gain more experience in logística, travel, hospitality, and road safety, geared towards high-end motorcycle group tours. As an independent contractor, I worked providing services to companies such as Ayres Adventures, Edelweiss Bike Travel and Ruta 40 Moto Touring. I also worked in partnership with Mike Thomsen, founder of Motolombia and current owner of MotoDreamer.
Other experiences:
Over the years, I have traveled to countless destinations across five continents — from Alaska to Ushuaia, from the Road of Bones in Siberia to Tibet, from South Africa to Vietnam, from Iceland to Patagonia. Every journey, a different experience. Every route, a story.
- I was part of the hospitality team of the Carrera Panamericana in Mexico, providing support to the riders and the vehicle supplier company.
- I organized the "Patagonia Expedition" press event for Subaru in Argentine and Chilean Patagonia — a journey of over 1,000 km from El Calafate to Ushuaia with international journalists.
- I organized the only tour that Rally for Rangers conducted in Argentina — an off-road expedition through Tierra del Fuego — and I managed the donation of 20 motorcycles BETA to the National Parks Administration as a result of that trip.
- From Italy, I was called upon to organize the DRE Patagonia Expedition de Ducati y Dainese — 15 Ducati DesertX from Ushuaia to El Calafate, with international journalists — managing all the logistical coordination and itinerary.
- I work as a logistical organizer for the program Expedition Masters, the global motorcycle travel initiative created by Ducati and Dainese, coordinating the expeditions in Iceland and the United States.
- I managed a fleet of baquets, pre-war race cars, with which we participated in sports events and tours.
- A special experience was the journey that URAL hired me to organize and guide: a group of international sidecar riders traveling Route 40 from northern Patagonia to Tierra del Fuego. The trip was documented in a five-episode series available on YouTube, with its chronicle published in blog oficial de URAL.
I participated in several BMW GS Trophy events in Argentina as a Marshal or part of the staff. I led the off-road trainings for KTM Argentina and Royal Enfield Argentina. In Argentina, I organized rides and press events for Triumph Argentina, BMW Argentina, Royal Enfield and Harley Davidson Buenos Aires. For BMW Motorrad Brasil, we organized one of the largest motorcycle trips for its commercial network.
Currently
Lately, if you don't find me at a motorcycle event, you might see me on television. I am the host of Motorbikes, a weekly specialized motorcycle program broadcasted on El Garage TV, in Argentina and several Latin American countries.
And as every good traveler knows, roads never end — a new one always appears. Together with Skip Mascorro, with whom I have been working since 2005, united by a great friendship, we are developing KaravanADV. It is a global 4×4 vehicle expedition company, with a focus on the Ineos Grenadier. My role is to lead the development of the venture in South America. Motorcycles and 4×4 journeys are, after all, the same passion with different wheels.
